How the record works.
pakistan.gg builds its record of Pakistani esports from public sources, mostly Liquipedia so far, and links every result to the page it came from. This page explains where the data comes from, who counts as Pakistani, which pages appear in search, and how titles and earnings are counted.

Sources
Each result keeps the source it came from and a link to it. Player, team and tournament pages list their sources at the bottom. Not every source is connected yet: see how the record is updated.
- Liquipedia: tournaments, placings, prize money, team rosters and the nationality on player profiles. pakistan.gg stores these facts, never Liquipedia's text. They are used under CC BY-SA 3.0, and Liquipedia is credited at the foot of every page.
- start.gg: brackets, standings and sets for Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 events, including events held in Pakistan.
- Esports Earnings: career prize money totals for players linked to an Esports Earnings profile.
- PandaScore: fixtures and results for Pakistani Valorant, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2 teams and players.
- OpenDota: Pakistani Dota 2 professional players.
- Organisers and news reports: for events no database covers, such as many local PUBG Mobile and Free Fire events. The result links to the report it came from.
News articles are used as leads for an editor to check. They are never republished on pakistan.gg.
Who counts as Pakistani
- A player counts as Pakistani when a source states that they are. The first source to state a nationality sets it.
- If a later source states a different nationality, the record does not change by itself. The disagreement goes to an editor, who checks the sources and decides.
- A player at an offline event in Pakistan whose source gives no nationality is assumed to be Pakistani. Their page calls them Pakistan-based rather than Pakistani, and the assumption is replaced as soon as a source states a nationality.
- A team counts as Pakistani when a source lists it as Pakistani. A team with no stated country counts as Pakistani when three or more of its current players are Pakistani.
- When a team from another country places with Pakistani players in its lineup, the result counts for those players and is shown under their names.
- Profiles are never merged by name. One person's profiles on different sites are joined only when a source links them, for example a Liquipedia page that links to a start.gg account. Two profiles with the same handle stay separate until an editor confirms they are the same person.
Which pages appear in search
Every player, team and tournament in the record has a page on the site. Pages with very little on them are kept out of search engines until there is more to show, so that a search leads to a page worth reading.
- Players: Pakistani with at least 3 results (alone or in a team lineup), or verified by an editor.
- Teams: Pakistani with at least 3 results, or verified by an editor.
- Tournaments: linked to a game, and either with at least one result recorded or held in Pakistan with a start date and not cancelled.
Other pages carry a noindex tag and are left out of the sitemap. They stay on the site, and tournament pages still link to them.
What counts as a title
- A title is a first place in a result in the record.
- A player's titles include first places won alone and first places won with a team, when the source lists the player in that team's lineup.
- A team's titles are the first places credited to the team.
- Each event counts once, so a tournament with events in two games can give two titles.
- Every first place counts the same, from a local online cup to Evo. Titles are not weighted by the size or prize pool of the event.
- Top-3 finishes count every result placed first, second or third.
pakistan.gg does not publish rankings yet. Lists such as most titles and earnings are sorted by those numbers, with no rating or score.
How earnings are counted
- All figures are in US dollars and count tournament prize money only: no salaries, sponsorship or streaming income.
- Players linked to an Esports Earnings profile show their career total from Esports Earnings, and the player's page gives the date it was recorded. That total follows Esports Earnings' own method.
- Other players show the prize money from their solo results in the record. It leaves out team prizes and events the record does not have yet, so it can be lower than what the player has won.
- Team prize money is not split between players. A team's page shows the prize money from the team's results, and on a player's page a team result shows what the whole team won.
- For events paid in another currency, such as rupees, the figure is the US dollar amount the source gives next to the local amount. It is not an official conversion.
- The game filter on the earnings page groups players by their main game. It does not split a total between games.
How the record is updated
- Most of the record so far was compiled from Liquipedia pages, one record at a time, with the page for each result kept alongside it.
- pakistan.gg is built to fetch updates from each source on a schedule: start.gg events in Pakistan and PandaScore fixtures every 30 minutes, Liquipedia results and start.gg results for Pakistani players abroad every 6 hours, and Liquipedia player lists and rosters, Esports Earnings and OpenDota once a day. These automatic updates are being set up one source at a time.
- When a source changes a fact it owns, such as a date, a status or a placing, the record follows it. Details such as a real name, a photo or a city are only filled in when empty, so one source cannot overwrite another.
- Anything uncertain waits for an editor: possible duplicate profiles, nationality disagreements, and Dota 2 players whose only link to Pakistan is the location on their Steam profile.
- Results from local events that no database covers are added by an editor from organiser or news reports.
- When an editor corrects something, the corrected field is locked. Automatic updates never change a locked field.
- Every player, team and tournament page shows when it last changed.
Opening sentences
The first sentence on each player, team and tournament page is written by code from the data on that page, using fixed wording. No person writes it and no AI model is involved. When the data changes, the sentence changes with it. The opening lines of list pages, such as the earnings list, are built the same way.
The sentence repeats names instead of using pronouns, because pakistan.gg does not assume anyone's pronouns. It says Pakistan-based instead of Pakistani when a nationality is assumed (see who counts as Pakistani).
Common questions
Why is a player missing?
The record only holds players that a source lists, and counts a player as Pakistani only when a source says so or when they played an offline event in Pakistan with no nationality given. Players who appear only in a team lineup, with no Liquipedia profile of their own, are not added, because no source states their nationality. Many local events are not on any database yet. Send a missing result.
Why does a player's earnings figure differ from Esports Earnings?
For players linked to Esports Earnings, the figure is their Esports Earnings total on the date it was recorded, so it can be behind a recent prize. Players without that link show only the prize money from their solo results in the record, which leaves out team prizes and events the record does not have yet. How earnings are counted.
Why is a profile not on Google?
Profiles with fewer than 3 results stay out of search engines until they have more, or until an editor verifies them. The page is still on the site. New pages can also take time to appear in search. Which pages appear in search.
Why is a player called Pakistan-based and not Pakistani?
No source states their nationality, so it is assumed from playing an offline event in Pakistan. Once a source states a nationality, the page uses it. Who counts as Pakistani.
How do I fix a mistake?
Email a link to the page and a source that shows the right information. If the source supports it, the record is fixed and the corrected field is locked, so automatic updates cannot undo it. Corrections.
